Category Manager Sourcing Business Unit Diamond Systems (m/f/x)
What's the role?
For our Business Unit (BU) Diamond Systems, we are looking for a Category Manager Sourcing with a strong track record in developing global supply strategies as well as establishing new methods and processes within an organization.
An ideal candidate will be responsible for four main areas of activity:
1) Definition of the Global Production Footprint as well as the Make or Buy Strategy of our tool business. 2) Ensures strategic decisions (i.e. SRM, technology) made for a category on a corporate level, are followed in projects. 3) Lead the target cost setting process within new product developments and coordinate the supplier awarding process. 4) Management of key supplier relationships
You will act as a “sparring partner” to the BU’s Head of Supply at Hilti Headquarter in Liechtenstein bringing strategic, operational and technical expertise to further improve the sourcing needs.

What does the role involve?
The category manager in our Diamond Systems Business Unit will be responsible for defining the global supply strategy within their category and is actively influencing the future product development roadmap in close cooperation with the relevant stakeholders from Marketing, Project Management and Development. Improving the competitiveness of the product portfolio by driving saving initiatives, developing strategic supplier relationships and establishing appropriate measures to ensure supply flexibility & resilience are key activities in this function. An ideal candidate will develop and nurture a plant, partner and supplier network which strongly contributes not only to the BU cost and quality targets but also drives innovation and offers new growth opportunities.
-Relationship Management with key stakeholders within suppliers, plants, and partner networks to drive relevant topics, incl. saving initiatives, product availability, lower throughput times and quality
-Engage stakeholders cross-functionally to support management of product category, e.g. Quality, Materials Management, Development, Marketing and Plants
-Driving supply topics within Time to money (TTMs) by supporting the TTM Teams in the early stage of a project in the definition of the relevant supply strategy and activities
-Negotiation skills, methods and approaches to drive productivity and other related topics
-Operational discipline to implement supply initiatives end-to-end, to execute cost reduction projects diligently, get things done
-Mastery of supply management tools and systems, for supply and supplier management, and data quality
-Frequent presentations to the Management team

What you need is:
- University degree with technical and/or business education or similar, major in Supply Chain Management or Consulting background advantageous
- Technical background for highly technical material groups / product category
- Professional experience in sourcing and supply chain management
- Project management skills
- Profound working experience in an international matrix environment
- Strong presentation and communication skills, fluent in English
