What's the role?

As segment manager, you are the global responsible for driving the Automotive and Machinery segment and its end customers for Hilti. As one of the most versatile segments within Energy & Industry, you will not only work to define the long-term strategy and its implementation, but also collaborate on the biggest new build projects around the globe and develop the base Machinery business with the teams in the markets - developing the offer, building up competence and aiming for global sales growth on a dynamic and changing environment full of opportunities.

What does the role involve?

As global Segment Manager you are defining & implementing the strategy of the Automotive & Machinery segments with the relevant regions. This includes direct, operational work with the Automotive business developers in the markets, and interaction with our top customers on key projects around the globe. You are responsible for creating international account development teams, building up the competence of the sales & engineering teams in the markets and supporting / guiding them in their work to increase our share of wallet on top project and accounts. In the HQ, your collaboration with the business units is key to drive product development to fill key offer gaps in the segment and translate customer needs into the overall offer development roadmap, including the major product portfolio development project to be carried out during 2021 – 2023.
In the Energy & Industry department, as a segment manager, you get to experience the full breadth of what Hilti has to offer! On the one side, working strategically to define the long-term gameplan for your segment globally, and on the other, operational work with customers and sales & engineering teams in the markets, in the Automotive plants to make it happen!

What you need is:

  • University degree in engineering, combined with business degree preferred
  • At least 5 years working experience in in B2B business in Sales & Marketing, Design & Engineering, Project Management functions
  • Strong business acumen, customer orientation and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strategic thinker with a “can do” attitude to get things done
  • Strong team collaboration and ability to work within a matrix organization
  • Proactiveness and coaching capabilities
  • Fluency in English with willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
