What's the role?

Within your role you support a product related project in our competence area of tribology and in close collaboration with our R&D staff. Tribology is one of Hilti’s key competences to ensure outlasting and outperforming Hilti products. Your role is to investigate sealing systems and to analyze their behavior on specifically designed tribological test equipment. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute with your ideas to our future sealing concepts.

What does the role involve?

You will support our tribology team in developing and testing sealing systems for Hilti tools, which are operating under extremely harsh conditions. Your responsibility will not just be planning, but also the preparation and execution of sealing performance tests. During this internship, you will also be involved in the development loops with our suppliers and R&D engineers.

Together with your team, you will be responsible for interpreting and presenting achieved results in different meetings. At the end of your stay, your findings must be documented in form of a technical report.

What you need is:

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, material science or related fields
  • You have a strong affinity to tribology topics
  • First lab experience and knowledge of elastomers is beneficial
  • You have the ability to work self-reliantly and systematically
  • You can handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • You're open for new ideas and you want to work in an international team
