Intern or thesis student – Development of innovative Fastening on Steel Solutions
What's the role?
Fastening on steel is a big application area of Hilti direct fastening technologies. Steel pins are driven within milliseconds into steel base material to fix gratings, installation equipment or for the use of electrical bonding and grounding. Hilti is the global market leader in this field of technology, constantly seeking for new technology and market opportunities. To actively drive and form this business, new product ideas and application cases are constantly generated and need to be technically evaluated. Your task will consist of developing products, conducting feasibility studies and evaluate application cases to prove and further develop new concepts for products and applications.
Start date is flexible to the student's availability (Jan/Feb/Mar) , duration for 6 months

What does the role involve?
As intern in our department you’ll be part of the development team for Fastening on Steel solutions. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop new products and exploit new applications with new or existing products.
Your key responsibilities will be to support our product developments and run technical feasibility tests for new product concepts and/or existing products in new application cases. This starts with requirements engineering, concept generation, CAD modelling and prototyping and goes until simulation, physical testing and result presentation within our team. You will communicate cross functionally with Marketing, Supply and our Approval team to assure that you’re going into the right direction and create value for our customer.

What you need is:
- Master student in mechanical engineering or comparable (civil engineering, mechatronics, …)
- 3D CAD-Modelling, Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel)
- Self-responsible and communicative working style
- A strategic approach and good problem-solving skills
- Passion for innovation and product development
