What's the role?

You will join our international team in Corporate Research & Technology to evaluate and develop innovative solutions using IoT and wearables platforms in the area of Health and Safety (e.g. people tracking, vital monitoring, activity recognition, etc.). You will have the possibility to familiarize with the latest available commercial or custom platforms (e.g. smartwatches, smartphones, construction IoT devices) where you can experiment and port innovative algorithms along with developing your ideas from scratch.

Start date is flexible to the student's availability, duration for at least 6 months

What does the role involve?

As intern in our department you will be part of a development team researching innovative algorithms for Health and Safety applications. You will work closely with our experts to develop and validate novel solutions using emerging IoT platforms, localization technologies (e.g., BLE, UWB, GNSS), sensing and emerging machine learning techniques (e.g., TinyML). You will contribute to improve Health and Safety, future digitalization, and automation of the construction sector.

Your key responsibilities will be to evaluate stat-of-art solutions and port them in a wearable or IoT device. You will test and apply them in the real application and support our team in evaluating the most promising solutions.

What you need is:

  • Current Master student in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar discipline.
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: IoT, Embedded platforms, Wearables, Sensors, Machine Learning, Mobile applications, Clouds, Navigation.
  • Good knowledge of one or more of the following program languages: Python, C, C++, mobile program languages.
  • Strong communication skills, with good English and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality.
