Intern or thesis student – Mechatronic System Development
What's the role?
Your task is to develop concepts to improve the existing drywall screw system and bring it to the next level by incorporating cutting edge technologies. You will drive the investigation into smart tool features for a future generation of drywall screw drivers. As part of an interdisciplinary team you will test mechatronic concepts to improve the tool, screw magazines and / or the screw collation systems.
Start date is flexible to the student's availability, target start date 1st August, duration: 6 months.

What does the role involve?
As an intern or thesis student in our department you’ll be part of the development of innovative screw solutions and systems for the construction business. In our global team setup, we constantly strive for innovation to provide the best solutions to our customers. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop the future drywall system.
Your key responsibilities will be to develop concepts for the future drywall system. You will work closely with the project team and support from ideation to proof of concept and recommendations for the future system. To do this, you will analyse and contribute to concepts which are thought to fill gaps in in our system or which fulfil the requirements. You will develop software as well as integrate electronic components and design mechanical parts together in one mechatronic system. On this basis, a prototype is created. It is your task to derive experiments which can be used to test the prototype extensively. Your creativity and initiative help you to rapidly test ideas and concepts with a hands-on approach.

What you need is:
- Student Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Good skills in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, with excellent English and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach, self-reliant personality enthusiasm to learn
