What's the role?

Your task is to help shape the future of one of Hilti’s flagship tools by developing concepts to improve the existing tool and bring it to the next level. You will drive the investigation into smart IoT tool features for the next generation of drywall screw drivers. As part of an interdisciplinary team you will develop and validate your concepts and ultimately improve the tool.

Start date is flexible to the student's availability, target start date: March 1st , duration: 6 months

What does the role involve?

As intern in our department you’ll be part of an international team working together to develop innovative system solutions for the interior finishing construction business. Our business unit works globally and in close contact with our customers to develop innovative and market leading fastening solutions. You will be part of a team developing our future smart drywall tool and system.

Your key responsibilities will be to drive and support the implementation of IoT smart features in the next drywall screwdriver. You will coordinate test concepts, gather and analyse this data, empowering you to develop improvements of our existing screw driver. You will work closely with the project team and support from analysis to concept evaluation. You will analyse customer requirements and needs, develop ideas and validate them with lab tests, simulations and customers. Your creativity and initiative help you to rapidly develop ideas with a hands-on approach. During your internship your mentor & team will support you whilst you explore and grow within these tasks.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor or Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent English and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach, self-reliant personality enthusiasm to learn
