What's the role?

As part of this role, you will help Hilti’s Corporate Research and Technology leadership to understand the construction industry’s way forward towards sustainability / circularity and support the assessment of business implications on Hilti. Sustainability is considered a topic of significant impact on the future of the construction industry. In this role you will gain knowledge how the construction industry is addressing our global challenge in sustainability and you will get first hand insight into how to translate this into a corporate agenda.

Start date: preferred- January / February 2022. Duration: 3-6 months

What does the role involve?

As intern in our department you will be part of a global research project featuring the future practices in the construction site driven by sustainability requirements. The research will focus on new materials and emerging engineering and design concepts, and their implications on Hilti’s business in the future.

Your key responsibilities will be to prepare and analyse interviews with customers and industry leaders, conduct desk research on variety of topics (ranging from material compositions to digital solutions) and consolidate findings from global studies. Furthermore, you will derive conclusions and learnings in cooperation with different business entities in Hilti and prepare presentations to top management

Hilti Corporate Research & Technology acts as a technology incubator in Hilti. We identify the most relevant construction and technology trends and drive mid to long-term innovation for the Hilti Group. What you need is:

  • Passionate about sustainability.
  • MSc/ MBA student with background in civil engineering, architecture, or related engineering field.
  • Creative yet methodological thinker, that is able to structure complex and ambiguous topics and translate fragmented inputs into a big-picture strategy.
  • A strong team player, able to network, to listen, to include,
  • Performance oriented, willing to go the extra mile to succeed with the team
  • Proficient in English.
