What's the role?

We are looking for a Product Liability Manager (m/f/d) to join our HQ legal department on a full-time basis with immediate effect. In this role, you will manage product safety, liability and brand risks for Hilti products and services. You will advise our Business Units and Global Marketing Communications team on technical product safety risks related to product development, product conformity decisions and marketing communications. You will closely align with our product liability team in the US legal department and support our region legal teams on product liability topics with your technical expert knowledge. In your role, you will be reporting to the Team Lead Market Reach & Product Liability in the Corporate Legal Department.

What does the role involve?

Bringing products to the market that are safe to use is an integral part of our business. To support this, you will provide technical consulting on product safety issues across all Hilti offering, ranging from power tools to chemicals to engineering services. One of your focus topics will be the review of technical literature, marketing materials and customer trainings to make sure our customers understand how and when to use our products. You will actively participate in our product development process to identify and address product safety risks. In cooperation with our Quality and Product Care teams, you will advise on product conformity and recall decisions in line with applicable legal requirements.

What you need is:

  • You have a passion for product safety topics and are ideally some engineering experience on safety and liability related to products and services
  • You have an engineering degree in a field related to the construction industry (i.e. civil or mechanical engineering, etc) and the interest & ability to develop the legal expertise in product liability required for the role. Alternatively, you have a law degree and a strong background in engineering (e.g. HTL)
  • You have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills at any level, paired with a pragmatic solution-oriented working approach
  • You enjoy working within a global legal team and across departments
  • You speak fluent English
