What's the role?
As a R&D Group Manager within Corporate Research & Technology you envision and drive future innovation for Hilti in products and services thru Mechatronics. You deliver major innovation by implementing new product or service concepts by mechatronic functions. You inspire the Advanced Mechatronics team, coach them in scientific excellence and professional execution of research projects. With your passion for people you develop talent for the organization.

What does the role involve?
In this challenging role you lead the Advanced Mechatronics team. You are coaching and developing an interdisciplinary team of 12 highly qualified team members. You’re responsible for a long-term research roadmap and it’s implementation, strategic resource planning and recruiting of talent in the organization. You leverage your internal and external network to foster Hilti’s long term differentiation by identifying relevant technologies and implementing them into new system. With your inspirational leadership you foster a creative environment with sparking ideas and innovation.

What you need is:
- MSc/PhD in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years industrial experience with 2+ years leadership experience.
- Interdisciplinary thinking and solid knowledge in several of the following fields: control, machine learning, signal analysis machine dynamics, electronics, sensors.
- Strong business orientation, proven ability to craft direction and create innovation with clear customer benefit.
- Strong empathic leadership with effective communication skills and the ability to influence others.
- Fluency in English, German is a plus.
