Strategic Sourcing Manager
What's the role?
You are a “sparring partner” to the BU’s Head of Supply of the Business Unit Measuring Systems at Hilti HQ in Liechtenstein. Your other three main areas of activity are on: 1) responsible for all Supply topics of a product line and in its management team, 2) Responsible commodity management and suppliers and 3) lead / coordinate the creation and deployment of methods, tools and strategies in and between our team and other departments.

What does the role involve?
The Strategic Sourcing Manager acts as a real “Sparring partner” to the BU Head of Supply. The scope of activities is broad and can touch different areas, such as the overall BU’s supply footprint and presentations to Hilti’s Top management.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the Sourcing, Purchasing & Logistics deliverables for a product line (e.g. Distance Metres, Rotating Lasers….) and is part of the management of this product line, meaning it heavily contributes to its strategy, product development and profitability.
You manage selected commodities of components and services (e.g. electronics, software) and/or directly sellable products (e.g. Accessories). The activities include: strategies, supplier relationship management, negotiations, Supply improvement projects together with different internal (e.g. Engineering and Manufacturing colleagues) and external stakeholders.
By creating and implementing all activities on methods, tools and strategies you improve how Supply is managed in the BU. An area we particularly look to improve in is in the creation and implementation of cross-functional (e.g. with Engineering, Marketing, etc) commodity strategies and implementation activities.

What you need is:
- Demonstrated experience to craft and implement strategies, which look 5 to 10 years in the future, with insufficient information and by working with different departments
- Leadership of cross-functional (e.g. Engineering, Marketing, Quality…) teams in new product introduction (>2 years)
- Experience in leading continuous improvement projects (>2 years)
- Excellent communication skills at all levels in an organisation
