Within this role, you will be technically responsible for Hilti’s product portfolio for the Insulation segment within Direct Fastening technology. This comprises product development in projects from definition to final market launch. Embedded in an international team set-up, you will coordinate with market organizations globally to transfer their needs & customer requirements into product requirements and work closely with external suppliers and approval bodies.

Within your role you support a product related project in our competence area of tribology and in close collaboration with our R&D staff. Tribology is one of Hilti’s key competences to ensure outlasting and outperforming Hilti products. Your role is to investigate sealing systems and to analyze their behavior on specifically designed tribological test equipment. In this role, you are in the driver seat for professional management and transformation of the Lean philosophy within the AMS / Tool Service Center organisation. You will actively contribute to the implementation of the strategy of AMS with focus on Operational Excellence. You will develop the lean management in the Tool Service Center, implement and train lean methods and concepts. Furthermore, you will drive cooperation and exchanges with recognised experts or institutions from the industry and strongly contribution to global Lean exchanges and other operations.

WC-Co hardmetal inserts are used for percussive drilling which is a very demanding application with complicated thermal and mechanical loadings, requiring good wear resistance and mechanical and thermal robustness. During production of drill bits, the hardmetal is subjected to various thermal cycles. For further improvements in the drilling performance, Hilti is aiming at developing an in-depth understanding of the effect of the above-mentioned factors on the wear and robustness of hardmetal inserts.
